Project Type: Construction Description: Habitat for Humanity of Anderson County builds houses in partnership with low-income families and individuals in Anderson County in need of decent and affordable housing. It is our long term goal to eliminate poverty housing through our homeownership program. Habitat for Humanity does not give houses away. Instead, we offer a hand-up to those in need by providing zero-interest mortgages and homeownership training. It is the volunteer labor and financial investments from the community that enables us to keep our costs low, thus providing decent and affordable housing. We welcome volunteers of all skill levels to work on the construction site. Tasks may include framing, roofing, siding, flooring, painting, landscaping, and/or site clean-up. Those with a construction or similar background may want to volunteer as a crew leader.
